BYOB ordinance passes in Champaign

Champaign City Council has passed an ordinance allowing BOYB (bring your own bottle, er, booze) at restaurants. Check out the info via Fox Illinois:

CHAMPAIGN – Champaign city council has passed a first of its kind ‘bring your own bottle liquor license.’

According to Champaign mayor and liquor commissioner Deborah Frank Feinen, under the current ordinance bringing your own bottle of alcohol was not allowed. This was keeping certain restaurants and other businesses who wanted to adopt a BYOB policy from doing so. One popular example is wine and paint party. Now, businesses and restaurants will be able to allow customers to bring in their own bottle of liquor.
