The Canopy Club kicks off their Summer Camp Wednesdays series with a night of music featuring Brainchild, a funky jam band from Peoria, IL. The series will feature bands that will be playing at Summer Camp Music Festival 2016, and you will also have a chance to win free tickets to the festival if you go.

WHERE: The Accord ($5 on Thursday, $10 on Friday and Saturday)

WHEN: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday January 21-23 at 8 p.m.

The Great Cover Up is now in its 25th year. Come check out some great local bands cover some of the greats. Things get under way on Thursday with Roberta Sparrow, Resinator, and others. Friday’s headliners are Brother Embassy and Mike Ingram, and things continue on Saturday with Wrist, Honcho Overload and many more.

WHAT: Steady Flow with Tell Mama and Red Scarves

WHERE: The Canopy Club ($7)

WHEN: Thursday, January 21st at 9 p.m.

Steady Flow is a funk rock band from Peoria, IL that will play at this year’s edition of the Summer Camp Music Festival.

WHAT: Yonder Mountain String Band with Trout Steak Revival

WHERE: The Canopy Club ($20 in advance, $25 at the door)

WHEN: Friday, January 22nd at 8 p.m.

Yonder Mountain String Band are back in town and they are sure to put on a great bluegrass show at the Canopy Club this Friday. Check out our interviews with the band here and here. They are here with Trout Steak Revival, which is another stellar bluegrass band that were recently crowned winners of the 41st Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition.

The Televangelists features members of a few local bands — Penny Horses, Marathon, and more — plus they’re joined by touring outfit Monotaur and C-U locals Krelboyne.

Brushville brings some upbeat country music to the City Center on Friday night.

Local punk rockers Bonobo Alliance will take the stage at Joe’s Brewery on campus.
