I’m sure many spent time at the McKinley YMCA as a kid. My sports league, the Twin City Derby Girls, has signed a long term lease on a portion of the building, and we are in the process of renovating the large pool into a skating arena. We’re excited to bring sporting events to downtown Champaign!
This would make for a very cool addition to Downtown Champaign, just off West Side Park on 500 W. Church Street.
UPDATE (4 p.m.): There’s more — a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the funds to make this possible.
