On this episode of Smile Politely Radio, Carol Jo Morgan, from The I.D.E.A. Store, and volunteer coordinator Scott Fernsler join us for a discussion about the store and the upcoming Hatch — A Creative-Reuse Festival. Hatch features a juried art fair and juried art exhibition, and takes place in and around downtown Champaign. The festival will include designer Michelle Stitzlein as festival artist-in-residence. They talk with us about some of the great items that make it into the store every day, and some very creative ways that artists and individuals have found to reuse them — from art to furniture to decorations and much more.
We also have a Science Politely segment this week from Morgan Carr-Markell, a graduate student in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology, where she explains how we can give honey bees more tools for success.
