The Overture

An absolutely jam-packed Overture this week features Guided By Voices, Evil Tents, Jeremih, and more.

Not too much happening earlier in the week but still plenty to get excited about next weekend with Bones Jugs having their album release party on Saturday and Pegboard Nerds coming to town on Sunday.

Plenty to get excited about this week in music: Joe Pug returns to C-U, The Fights are playing a free show at the Rose Bowl, and So Long Forgotten will be playing their final show on Saturday.

Plenty for music fans to get excited about this week with Houndmouth and Father John Misty coming to town, as well as Record Store Day on Saturday.

Plenty of music happening this week in C-U. Highlights include Matisyahu, Kurt Vile, and Jana Kramer.

A good week for C-U hip-hop fans with Mother Nature performing at The Accord on Friday and Flatbush Zombies at The Canopy Club on Sunday.

With the students being gone and The Canopy Club facing “structural instability”, there is a little less happening this week in terms of live music. That being said, there are still some really solid shows happening like Grandkids playing at The Accord on Tuesday and Jamey Johnson at The City Center on Thursday.

Just because the U of I's spring break is coming up doesn't mean there isn't plenty of live music happening all this week and into the weekend- check out the full list within.

Highlights from this week in C-U music include Chicago rockers Twin Peaks performing at The Accord on Wednesday, and the Monterey Jazz Festival at Krannert on Saturday evening.
