The Overture

This week begs you to come to the streets of downtown Champaign. Streetfest takes place on Saturday and Friday Night Live continues to bring great local musicians to the street corners as well. 

This week is a little shorter than normal due to the holiday, but not lacking in shows one bit. A new venue brings shows to the downtown Urbana scene, Blackbird, hosting weekly musical performances. Keep your week exciting by checking out any number of local events listed.

This week is full of Festivals ranging from Riggs-Fest to Audiofeed. If festivals are your thing, make sure to make your way to any of the ones listed below.

This week brings benefits, outdoors shows, basements hangouts, and some old school rockers. Go to one, go to them all, you won't be disappointed either way.

Lots of family-friendly community events populate this week's Overture. Get outside and enjoy some tunes with the whole gang. Or, partake in another Blips banger. Both are good choices.

It's all about fun in the summer sun when it comes to local shows this week, which feature Bobby Bare Jr., Pet Symmetry, a straight 48-hour jam session, and lots more.

This sizeable week of live music is highlighted by some essential summertime events, such as the Hogchute Opry, Homer Soda Festival, and much more.

Blips and Chitz owns this week of shows, which also includes some Cowboy Monkey fun and the showing of a classic rockumentary.
