You can submit questions for the IL-13 primary debates

For the first time in a long time, we do not have an incumbent running for the house in IL-13. And while the map favors the Democratic Party, you just never know. Illinois Public Media, League of Women Voters of Champaign County, and WAND are hosting two debates with the primary candidates in the respective parties. Democratic candidates David Palmer and Nikki Budzinski will debate on May 26th at 7 p.m. Republican candidates Jesse Riesing, Matt Hausman, and Regan Deering will face off on June 2nd at 7 p.m.

Illinois Public Media is asking for video questions from the public to be used during the debate.

Make a 15-30 second video of yourself asking one clear question to the 13th Congressional District candidates. Be sure to say the reason why you’re asking your question and if the question is for the Republicans or Democrats.

1. Include your name and city.
2. Record in a quiet, well-lit place
3. Submit your question by Monday, May 23.

You can submit via their Google form. You can also submit questions by leaving a voicemail or  texting 217-300-2121, or emailing Kimberlie Kranich at kranich@illinois.edu.

Listen to the debate on AM580 or FM 90.0, or watch live through WILL’s Facebook page and on WILL-TV.

Early voting begins today, May 19th, and the primary election is June 28th. You can find information about voting at the Champaign County Clerk’s website.
