Incredibly sad news coming from the WCIA 3 news desk this afternoon. Longtime anchor Dave Benton has announced that tonight will be his final newscast as an anchor. Benton opened up about having terminal cancer last September that his brain cancer had returned and was inoperable. Though Benton will no longer be anchoring the evening news, he will still be adding Crime Watch stories to the 5 p.m. broadcasts. We wish Dave the absolute best and look forward to continuing to see and hear his stories on our televisions.
