Watch Rodney Davis duck a bunch of U of I students like a lame

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Rodney Davis can’t take the heat. He refuses to meet with those who disagree with him, treats concerned constituents with a smug sense of partisanship and is rapidly on his way to being ousted in the 2018 election (have you seen those bumper stickers all around town?). Today, however, you don’t just have to take my word for it – you can watch for yourself via Facebook.

A group of students, concerned with affordable higher education, took to Rod’s office in D.C. to air some concerns.

They enter the office around the 4:40 mark.

Then, at the 8:20 mark, the student organizer brings up Davis’ insistence on not holding a town hall, at which point Rodney decries them for being members of Illini Democrats (as if he doesn’t have to represent them). Then, after answering exactly 0% of their questions, he storms out of his own office, undoubtedly spooked by hard questions.

There’s a whole lot to unpack here (for example, pennants from higher education institutions adorn Davis’ office, but he refuses to meet with students from those institutions), but the most important take-away is that Rodney has no interest in representing the students of the 13th district. None whatsoever.

See you in 2018, Rod.
