Visit Champaign County created a Hospitality Relief Fund

Visit Champaign County has had to cancel their annual Toast to Tourism this year; it was scheduled for May 13th at the Virginia Theatre.

The event was a way to honor those in the hospitality industry here in Champaign County. Now, the VCC Foundation Board is taking those expenses and establishing a fund that will “provide direct financial support for individuals who have immediately formerly worked in the greater Champaign County area as housekeepers, caterers, cooks, front desk staff or anywhere in our hotel partner operations.”

A $250 cash award will be given to a displaced staff member at each of their 24 hotel partners. Recipients will be determined by the respective general managers.

Those interested in contributing to the fund can donate here. Businesses wishing to donate gift cards can send them to: Visit Champaign County, ATTN: Hospitality Relief Fund, 17 E. Taylor St., Champaign IL 61820.
