Vic McIntosh announces resignation from Champaign City Council

From the press release:

Champaign City Council Member Vic McIntosh Announces Resignation

Effective June 1, 2016

District 3 Council Member Vic McIntosh announced today that he is resigning from the Champaign City Council effective June 1, 2016.  McIntosh is resigning because he is relocating out of his Council district.

“It has been my honor and privilege serving the constituents in District 3 and across Champaign,” reports McIntosh.  “I have truly enjoyed my 15 years on the Council and will miss the day to day work serving the public.  I am pleased with the improvements taking place in the Garden Hills neighborhood and trust the City will continue to promote further progress in this proud neighborhood.  The dedication of City staff serving this community is truly impressive, and I have enjoyed working with staff and my Council colleagues to develop such a wonderfully unique community.”

McIntosh’s Council term runs through May 2017.  The City Council is tentatively scheduled to discuss the process of filling the vacancy during its Study Session meeting on April 19, 2016.  A Council District map is available online at ci.champaign.il.us/council.
