The City of Urbana is hosting a pretty cool even commemorating the Boneyard. The event is called Urbana Celebrates the Boneyard! and it happens April 11th from 10am to 3pm, at the Boneyard Creek Improvements Project. It’s got art from local artists, a musical performance and, if you’re hungry, food trucks will be there to feed you.
From the release:
Urbana Celebrates the Boneyard! will consist of art-making stations led by local artists, food trucks, face painting, a performance by Bow-Dacious String Band from Urbana’s Community Center for the Arts, a West African drumming and dance performance by Djibril Camara & the Ballet Allah Tantou, and more. Artworks by local students and local artists Beth Darling and Paula Chmiel will be displayed on street pole banners around the park.
Urbana Celebrates the Boneyard is free and open to the public, and is a part of the county-wide Boneyard Arts Festival, presented annually by 40 North | 88 West: Champaign County Arts Council.
