From the press release:

Each season the Twin City Derby Girls invite local organizations to submit applications to partner with the league as part of our Community Involvement Program.

The Twin City Derby Girls are proud to name Habitat for Humanity as their 2013 Season Charity Partner.

The league looks forward to partnering with Habitat for Humanity in late spring as part of the Women’s Build Week in which the derby girls will join forces with other volunteers from the community to help construct a home for a C-U family. The partnership will align two wonderful organizations in their efforts toward empowerment and giving back to their communities.

The mission of the Twin City Derby Girls is to promote roller derby in the Champaign-Urbana community by fostering athleticism, empowerment, and sportsmanship among all of our members and supporters, especially women and girls, while benefiting local non-profit organizations through our charitable donations and service.

More information on the league can be found here.
