Traffic Stop Town Hall happening at Urbana Civic Center

The City of Urbana I.D.O.T. Traffic Stop Data Task Force invites the public and the minority driving population to come out and share their stories about how traffic stops have impacted them.

The City of Urbana I.D.O.T. Traffic Stop Data Task Force has been charged with identifying and studying any racial disparities that may exist in local traffic stop data supplied annually to the City by the Illinois Department of Transportation (I.D.O.T.), and attempting to find the source and cause of any disparity. The Task Force is examining multiple aspects of the traffic stop data, including how traffic stops have an impact on drivers’ daily lives.

The I.D.O.T. Traffic Stop Impact Subcommittee is asking for citizens who would like to share their impact statements can do so by attending a town hall meeting on February 21, 2015 at the Urbana Civic Center 108 E. Water St., Urbana 61801 from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
