The first Carle Illinois College of Medicine class graduates this weekend

Carle Health System and the University of Illinois partnered in 2018 to create the world first engineering-based medical school. The inaugural class will be graduating on May 15th, with 100 percent of the class matching to a residency program at schools like BI Deaconess (Harvard), Mayo Clinic, Stanford, Georgetown, Duke University, and New York University – Long Island — in July.

Twenty-three students will be graduating, while several are delaying graduation to do an additionial year of research in their medical specialities. 

The convocation ceremony will be livestreamed at 11 a.m. on May 15th.
