The City of Champaign is hosting CommYOUnity events this summer

Throughout the summer, the City of Champaign will be sponsoring several events that are free and open to all ages. The “CommYOUnity: It takes YOU to make it work” summer engagement campaign will kick off this Thursday, May 26th, at Country Brook Apartments in Champaign.

From 4 to 6 p.m. there will be food, music, and inflatables, as well as vendors letting folks know about available community resources.

There are currently two more events scheduled, with more to come:

  • Garden Hills Park-Raising Party – June 10th, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Hedge POP Park is a new pop-up park for community residents. “Join neighborhood residents in bringing the park to life by completing the final touches of amenity installations, then stick around for some free food, music, and more fun activities for everyone to enjoy. “
  • Streetfest – June 11th, 5 to 10 p.m. – Neil Street/Main Street. Street fest is back with  local bands Decadents, Retro Via, and Funk Brotherz.
