Student Farm needs help

The new UIUC student farm is in dire need of volunteers this week to help them pick vegetables. The farm and people there are wonderful, and you get to take home some delicious veggies:

We had an incredible harvest last week and, despite only a few volunteers showing, we harvested more vegetables than any previous week. We’ve reached the peak of the season so we need all the help we can get! I know many of you will be back on campus this week, so maybe between moving in and buying books you could find the time to stock up on fresh veggies (and cantelope!) while making sure the students moving in to the dorms will be able to eat locally as well.

We will be harvesting on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We’ll be out there at 8:30 a.m. until ~1 p.m. The earlier the better so we can get off to a good start.

As always, drive/bike/walk south on Lincoln past Windsor on the gravel road. On your left you’ll come to an open gate with a big blue van and Illini pop-up tent. Park outside of the fence and walk in. We’ll come over asap and get you started.

We’re hoping for lots of help this week. Believe me, it will be worth your time! The fruit and vegetables are so delicious right now.

Hope to see you this week!
