Station Theatre to hold auditions for Appropriate

The Station Theatre in Urbana announces auditions for the comedy Appropriate by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, to be directed by Mike Prosise.

Audition date: Sunday, February 22, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Callbacks (if necessary) on Monday, February 23, 7 p.m.

Performance dates:
April 23, 24, 25, 26
April 29, 30, May 1, 2, 3
May 6, 7, 8, 9

No preparation necessary; auditions will consist of readings from the script

Casting the following roles:

Toni – female, white, late 40s/early 50s
Bo – male, white, late 40s/early 50s
Rachael – female, white, 40s
Franz – male, white, late 30s/early 40s
River – female, white, early 20s
Rhys – male, white, late teens


Synopsis:
When the Lafayettes descend upon a crumbling Arkansan plantation to liquidate their dead patriarch’s estate, his three adult children collide over clutter, debt, and a contentious family history. But after a disturbing discovery surfaces among their father’s possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the explosive, unleashing a series of violent surprises and confrontations. A play about the trouble with inheritance, memory loss, and the art of repression.
