Polyvinyl Record Co. is interested in interns for the spring semester. Interns assist the mail order and production team by folding t-shirts, prepping pre-orders, assembling records, maintaining inventory, and updating our website. Additionally, interns lend a hand to the satellite offices by taking care of retail, radio, and publicity mailings as needed. Potential interns should expect to spend about nine hours per week at the office. Typical shifts are three hours long and occur Monday-Friday between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Internships are unpaid, but can be taken for college credit/life experience/free records.
Polyvinyl is an independently owned and operated record label based in Champaign. With a catalog of more than 300 releases from over 100 artists — including Alvvays, American Football, Braid, Deerhoof, Japandroids, and of Montreal — they’re proud to work with some of music’s most interesting and respected artists over the past two decades.
PVHQ, their production and distribution hub, is located just off of the U of I campus on south Neil St, so they’re in a great location for students looking to experience a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how an independent record label operates.
