From the press release:

The Public Arts Program is currently seeking six performers and six visual artists to participate in the 2016 season of Art at the Market. Selected artists will be compensated for their time, and will have the opportunity to connect with their community while simultaneously showcasing their talent. The available dates for 2016 are May 14th, June 11th, July 9th, August 3rd, September 10th, and October 8th. Art activities are from 8:00am to 12:00pm, while performances are from 9:30am to 11:30pm.

Art at the Market has hosted numerous arts workshops, activities and performances by local artists since 2009. Held at Urbana’s Market at the Square, it is always free and open to all ages, and it requires no registration to participate.

“Art at the Market allows Market visitors to participate in hands-on arts activities, and to explore various styles of music,” said Pauline Tannos, Public Arts Coordinator. “Giving local artists the opportunity to be a part of Market at the Square, which is among the largest farmers’ markets in Illinois, is one of the Public Arts Program’s many efforts to foster a city where artists can thrive and feel valued.”

Please contact Pauline Tannos with any questions, concerns or comments at (217) 328-8265 or ptannos@urbanaillinois.us.
