Smith Burger Co and Maize’s Hamburguesa Al Pastor was a smash hit

The Hamburguesa Al Pastor, a burger served by Smith Burger Co topped with Maize Mexican Grill’s al pastor, was a smash hit. The May 5th special had double beef smashburger patties, pepperjack cheese, and Maize’s al pastor with guacamole salsa on a toasted brioche bun, and it was an awesome spicy, messy burger.

The melted queso dripped into the cracks of the smashburger patties and absorbed the heat from the salsa. The al pastor was insanely delicious with a lingering heat calmed by the avocado and soft bun. The textures of the flavorful shredded pork, meaty patties, soft salsa, and toasted bun made for a well constructed burger. Amazingly, none of the toppings squished out the sides when eaten; that food truck chef is quite the burgersmith.

This isn’t the first time Smith Burger Co teamed up with another delicious C-U business for a burger collab. Last month, the Glazed and Confused burger on a Ye Olde Donut Shoppe glazed donut was freaking amazing, and last year, Smith Burger Co paired with Baldarotta’s to make a delish mortadella, burrata, and pesto burger.
