Good afternoon, readers. We’re looking for a new editor for the magazine. The Culture section is seeking an engaged and interested community member with a penchant for the written word, a knack for managing a small team of community authors, and a good sense of grammar. Smile Politely prides itself on delving into a wide variety of interesting aspects of the culture that surrounds our community.
There are an ample amount of topics in the C-U area to write about for this section, so we’re looking for people who are interested in helping us cover the bases while also seeking out writers in the community to contribute to the section each week.
Qualifications vary and mostly depend on writing/editing experience and organization skills, but ultimately, the best candidates are the ones who are excited about the magazine and about our community in general. Editors are expected to maintain a small quota of edited articles per week from writer submissions, as well as other duties and responsibilities, including weekly SPlog entries and posts to the Weekender column.
If you’re interested in applying, please email info@smilepolitely.com with the subject heading “Culture Editor Applicant,” along with any information that you deem relevant for the position. We’ll be in touch with applicants after that.
Thank you!
