Shakespeare goes interactive

What You Will Shakespeare Company has an illustrious history of taking an irreverant, yet updated, approach to the master of theatre and poetry.

In that spirit, they are announcing their production The Knight of the Burning Pestle, staging this weekend at the University Place Christian Church, 403 S. Wright St., beginning at 8 p.m.

Their brief synopsis on their facebook page states that unruly audience members force their way into a boring play about kings, upending the plot and dialogue that the company members are desperately trying to keep on book.

It kind of sounds like the way they structured the press release they sent me last night, asking for a full preview with interviews with cast & crew to be conducted and crafted on only one day’s notice — absurb, yet entertaining.

Heck, it was so entertaining that I granted them a SPlog, and if I had time, I would go see it. Maybe, if you are reading this, you would also like it. Tickets are $7 at the door.
