Take a drive on North Randolph Street in Champaign. You’ll pass the Virginia Theater on your left, the parking garage on your right, and then you’ll get into some residential areas. Soon, about a block or two from where the road T’s, you’ll see a large garden on your right. Sometimes they have really clever and cute sinage out front. What is the place? It seems out of place? Is it apart of the school? These may be some of the thoughts that just briefly went through your head.
This is the Randolph Street Community Garden and it is a very special place coordinated by a dedicated individual: Dawn Blackman. Watch the video to learn more about how this garden is feeding the mouths, minds and hearts of our community.
