Parkland College is collaborating with the Illinois Community College Board and State Representative Carol Ammons to launch SWFT: Support for Workforce Training. The program will target underserved populations, offering short term training (a year or less) tuition free that can translate into high-wage jobs in construction and manufacturing, healthcare, business/IT services, and transportation.
This is made possible by a $1.5 million Illinois Workforce Equity Initiative grant, and could really be a game changer for people in our community who are struggling to support themselves and/or their families. There is no high school credential required to apply.
