Paign to Peace is hosting a conversation on gun violence

Last spring, five high school students formed the group Paign to Peace. The group was very active throughout the summer, organizing marches and rallies to meet the moment racial reckoning. Now, as gun violence continues to plague C-U, they have planned an event at Hessel Park on Sunday, May 2nd at 3 p.m. From the event page:

In these recent days, gun violence has taken the lives of so many people, young people especially who had so much more life to live. We would like to give the community a chance to not only grieve all of the loved ones we have lost to gun violence, but to also have a genuine conversation on how we can prevent these deaths from occurring, and how we can better protect our youth.

They are looking for volunteers for set up and clean up, and to distribute water and masks. If you are interested in speaking at the event, you can let them know here.
