Urbana’s Market at the Square to Transform into Market at the SCARE on October 29th
Join Urbana’s Market at the Square for a special Halloween-themed MARKET AT THE SCARE, presented by Christopher Jordan Orthodontics. The event will take place from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 29, 2016! There will be a variety of fun and family-friendly activities throughout the morning:
- NO-CARVE PUMPKIN DECORATING: Purchase a pumpkin from your farmer friends, bring it to the main entrance and let your creativity flow! The market provides (for free) all the art and craft supplies you’ll need to create a masterpiece.
- COSTUME CONTEST: Children and adults are encouraged to enter the costume contest! Stop by the market tent at the main entrance in a family-friendly costume to enter. The winner will receive a fun prize!
- TRICK-OR-TREAT: Visit your favorite Market vendors for tricks and treats! Many vendors will feature both edible and non-edible treats.
- CHILI COOK-OFF: Sample locally-sourced chili prepared by staff from the City of Urbana’s Fire, Police and Public Works Departments. Vote for your favorite chili by leaving a donation of any amount in the department’s “voting jar”. The department with the largest donation will win the cook-off! All donations benefit the department’s charity of choice.
Urbana’s Market at the Square is open from 7 a.m. to noon at the corner of Illinois and Vine Street in downtown Urbana. The final market day of the 2016 season will be Saturday, November 5th.
