Knee surgery for Joseph Bertrand

From the SID:

Sept. 8, 2009

Champaign, Ill.–University of Illinois freshman guard Joseph Bertrand (Sterling, Ill.) suffered a right knee injury during a workout Monday at the Ubben Basketball Complex. Bertrand will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Friday. A timetable on his return will be determined following surgery.

“This is an unfortunate setback for Joseph, but on the bright side it happened now and not during the middle of the season,” Illinois Head Coach Bruce Weber said. “We look forward to him returning to practice once he has made a full recovery.”
