It’s time to audition for Parkland’s spring productions

Next semester, Parkland will be bringing Come Blow Your Horn and Young Frankenstein to their stages, and they’ve got auditions set for both on Saturday, December 1st from 9 a.m. to noon. You do not have to be a Parkland student to audition — community members and U of I students are also encouraged to participate. Call backs will be December 2nd, time to be determines. Here are the details:

Come Blow Your Horn” by Neil Simon
Directed by Melissa Goldman

  • Casting seven actors ages 16 and over
  • Performances will run in Parkland Theatre’s Second Stage February 7–17.

Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
Directed by Chelsea Collier Zych 

  • Casting a diverse group of 25+ actors, ages 12 and older 
  • Actors will perform a 32-bar cut from a song in the style of Young Frankenstein (but please, no songs from the show).
  • Actors will also read from sides which can be found here. This includes ensemble roles in the musical.
  • Performances will be held in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre April 4–21.
