If you’re like me, and never check you expiration dates, then odds are you have some expired or no longer useful medication lying around. Fortunately, there is an easy, safe, and free way to dispose of your no longer wanted pharmacuticals. 

C-U has several drop-off locations within the community that make getting rid of medications simple, and easy.

There is an easy & FREE way to dispose of your old medicines!
There are currently three available drop-boxes located in Champaign-Urbana:

Champaign Police Department
82 E. University Ave., Champaign

University of Illinois Police Department
1110 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana

Walgreens
1713 W. Springfield Ave., Champaign

(The drop-box at the Urbana Police Department is temporarily unavailable.)

These drop-boxes are available 24-7.
Items accepted: prescription and over-the-counter medications, including controlled substances and pet medications
Items NOT accepted: needles and sharps, thermometers, infectious waste
