Habitat for Humanity hosting tons of financial education events this spring

Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County will be hosting a plethora of education events, centered around making smart financial decisions, over the course of the spring.

These events are free and open to the public, and teach vital skills to maintaining financial solvency. For more information, including schedule and descriptions, check out what Habitat had to say below:

Financial Capability Program

In this moment, where are you financially?  How would you rate your financial health? Financial capability is about reaching your financial goals and building your financial health.  Your ability to buy and keep a home depends on your current and future financial capability. Habitat For Humanity of Champaign County, in partnership with United Way, offers a series of workshops designed to help you build your financial capability.

Classes are held at the Habitat ReStore, and are FREE/open to the public.  Please call to register at 217-819-5113

Habitat offers a financial program that provides a  comprehensive overview of the home purchase process to assist home-buyers in making smart, informed decisions on their journey of owning a home.

MONEY SMART WEEK

Free Workshops at Habitat for Humanity 

Money Smart week is a program created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. It brings together financial institutions, non-profits, universities and government agencies to offer free financial education classes across the country. Money Smart Week helps consumers manage their personal finances better by offering programs to all demographics and income levels, to cover all facets of personal finance.

  • Tuesday, April 25th, 6:00pm – Save for a Dream Presented by Kathy Sweedler of UofI Extension
  • Wednesday, April 26th, 6:00pm – Investing 101 Presented by Clint Cissell of Edward Jones
  • Thursday, April 27th, 6:00pm – The Credit Workshop presented by James Mueller
