Exposed showcase happening June 8th at Soma

From the press release:

Amy Ali presents: Exposed to host its returning showcase featuring local performing artists, in support of gaining exposure and raising funds for Champaign-Urbana community organizations.

WHO: Exposed has partnered with the Community Center for the Arts, One People, CU Theatre Company, CU Design Organization (CUDO), CU Film Society and Writers Organizing Realistic Dialect (WORD) to bring a full roster of talented and local artists.

WHAT: A safe, inclusive, and intimate atmosphere that nurtures verbal expression through performing arts. The event will be filled with poetry, spoken word, comedy, live music, and film/photography exhibits. The event is free, and we will be accepting any given donations in support of the above-mentioned organizations.

WHEN: Sunday, June 8th, 2014 (and monthly here after). We will begin hosting at 7 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Soma Ultralounge, 320 N. Neil St, in Downtown Champaign.

WHY: Ali is using Exposed as her platform to unite community organizations of common interests to build, strengthen and support the community’s involvement in the performing arts and creative pursuits.

Members of the media will have the opportunity to engage with Ali, representatives from Exposed, community organizational leaders, as well as the performing artists. We invite you to come, enjoy appetizers and cocktails, and experience the artists’ stories presented with the mission to expose. In the event that you will not attend, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions on Exposed, event specifics, and/or future events.
