Congrats to Deke Weaver and Company! Weaver’s multimedia theater performance, _Elephant_, which appeared at the UI Stock Pavilion this September, will be showing again at the Sundance Film Fest in January. The News-Gazette reported this Sunday that Weaver will translate the production, which used the whole of the stock pavilion’s massive space, for much smaller confines. The space he will work with in Utah will be slightly smaller than the Station Theater in Urbana and presumably much less dustier than the pavilion. That will mean fewer cast members (Weaver plus two and a lighting designer) and, of course, no life-size walking elephant contraption.
Hopefully, Weaver will be able to share some video from his experience at Sundance so that we can compare the scaled-down version with the original.
