Champaign installs again: new public art

In what seems like an unspoken, yet friendly competition to have the most public art, Champaign has installed another sculpture in the downtown area.  Possibly a reaction to Urbana’s newest Murals on Glass, Shawn Morin’s “Dakota Memories” has a new home outside of Quality, across from the City Building on the corner of Chester and Neil Streets.

Which town is winning? Does it matter? We have sculptures and paintings everywhere. Sometimes I wish we focused on both quality AND quantity, because, you know, that jester by 7Saints, but an art-based rivalry can’t do anyone harm.
