Champaign County Historical Museum day of service

The Champaign County Historical Museum has been taking strides to re-establish itself as a community resource over the past few months. This Monday, the Museum invites community members to join in a day of service to organize and inventory its artifacts.

From the Museum’s announcement:

In order to keep moving forward we welcome our friends and members to join us on Monday, January 18th for a day of community service. Staff will arrive at 9:00 AM and crews will be working throughout the day. Feel free to give as little or as much time as you have. We have a number of important tasks that need to be accomplished to begin building brand new exhibits in time for our May opening. We have a variety of tasks for all ages and abilities and they include:

  • Re-shelving and inventorying the books in our research room
  • General cleaning throughout the museum
  • Emptying our basement (more intense physical labor)
  • Packing and storing artifacts
  •  ….and much more!

If you have any questions or wish to RSVP (helpful but not required) please email me at president@champaigncountyhistory.org.
