Champaign and Urbana mayors declared today COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day

This morning Champaign Mayor Deb Feinen and Urbana Mayor Diane Marlin gathered with representatives from the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, University of Illinois, and Interfaith Alliance C-U to honor those in our community who have been impacted by COVID-19 over the past two years. They read a proclamation declaring the first Monday of March to be COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day. According to the CUPHD COVID dashboard, 61,301 people in Champaign County have contracted COVID-19 (though that number is likely higher) and 282 people have died.
