Call for Artists and Performers for the 2014 Art at the Market

Urbana’s Art at the Market is now accepting applications to participate as an art workshop leader or performer during the 2014 season. The season will run every Saturday, May 3rd through November 1st, and is located at the corner of Illinois and Vine Streets near downtown Urbana. The Market will be open 7 a.m.–noon, rain or shine. Urbana’s Market at the Square reaches thousands of patrons each Saturday during the summer months.

Dates of this year’s art workshops and performances will be May 10th, June 14thJuly 12thAugust 9th, and September 13th.  

Urbana’s Market has been a mainstay of Saturday morning activities for the past 35 years, and is home to an average of 70 vendors every week, all of whom grow or create their own fresh produce, plants, and flowers; farm products such as meat, cheeses, eggs, honey, and fresh baked goods and other prepared foods. There also is a wide variety of art and crafts for sale as well as a variety of local food trucks dishing out everything from cupcakes to burritos. New in 2014 is the addition of a new category of vendors selling locally-produced beer, wine, and spirits.
