Ben Folds returns to Urbana on March 29th

The critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and pianist Ben Folds is making his return to Urbana next year, on Wednesday, March 29th. He’ll be performing at Krannert Center’s Foellinger Great Hall at 7:30 p.m. He previously performed in Urbana back in 2004 at Krannert, as well as in 2017 at The Canopy Club.

Folds is known for his vast body of work including albums with Ben Folds Five, his solo albums, as well as collaborations with artists such as Regina Spektor, Weird Al, William Shatner, Sara Bareilles, and more. His music is heartbreaking, catchy, and incredibly well crafted. His live shows are also known to be fun and unique, as he’ll often rework versions of his songs and perform covers.

Tickets go on sale January 25th and will be available online only on Krannert’s website. I imagine these tickets will go quickly, so be on the lookout. In the meantime, check out Fold’s 2017 Kennedy Center performance where he composes a song live in ten minutes.
