This Saturday afternoon at 12:45 p.m., Champaign’s Art Theater Co-op will host an encore presentation of all the winning film’s from last year’s Pens to Lens student screenwriting competition. This event will last approximately 75 minutes and is free of charge.
Per the Art website: “Last year saw the inaugural Pens to Lens competition, a screenwriting contest for local K-12 students. Students wrote short screenplays, which were then read by local filmmakers who picked scripts to produce as actual short films. Out of 120 submissions last year, 9 were shot. Two standing-room-only screenings were held at the Art – and on Saturday, February 22nd, we’re bringing them back!”
And good news for any other aspiring student writers: Submissions are being taken for the second annual Pens to Lens competition. Through February 28th, students can submit their screenplays at www.PensToLens.com.
