Allerton launches artist in residence program

Allerton Park and Retreat Center has announced the beginning of a new artist in residence program, which “offers artists and naturalists the opportunity to live and create on the Allerton estate,” and “brings awareness to the unique characteristics of the Park and continues the legacy of Robert Allerton, who often hosted great thinkers and makers at his home.” Chicago-based multi-media visual artist and educator, and Illinois alumnus John E. Bannon, has been selected as the inaugural artist in residence. Some of Bannon’s previous work will on display during this year’s Wellness Walk, December 5th through January 31st.

The Allerton artist in residence program was created with support from donors Joan and Peter Hood and Dana Brehm and Larry Baumann.
