abCU Typography Exhibit opens at indi go

As part of the Boneyard Arts Festival, the Champaign-Urbana Design Organization (CUDO) is hosting the abCU: Write What You Mean, and Mean
What You Type
2015 Typography Exhibit and Fundraiser. This is a collaborative showcase of letterforms, words, and wisdom crafted by artists, designers, and anyone with a love for typography.

In addition to uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet, punctuation, and symbols, this show will feature words, phrases, and quotes. Entries are handcrafted by local artists and designers in a variety of mediums, with emphasis on handmade processes. Past mediums have included screen printing, hand-drawn illustration, letterpress prints, collage, sculpture,
painting, and more.

The abCU exhibit was created to showcase unusual and one-of-a-kind
artwork that is affordable and attainable. All artwork will be for sale during the exhibit’s opening reception at Indi Go Artists Coop, 9 E. University, Champaign, on Friday, April 10th, 2015, 6-10pm. Proceeds will go toward the support of programming for CUDO.

The Champaign-Urbana Design Organization is made up of local designers and other creatives, as well as staunch supporters of quality design. Its mission is to cultivate a vibrant design culture that engages and enriches our local community. More information about the organization can be found on the CUDO web site, thecudo.org.
