A race to help endangered species

This is one of the more interesting ways to help endangered species that I’ve come across in a long time.

A five mile race has been organized by an eight-year-old girl named Brigid to support endangered species (I’m suddenly embarrassed to say how I spent my free time when I was eight). There is no fee to enter, but donations will be accepted for the International Rhino Foundation and The Nature Conservancy.

The race will take place Thursday, May 31, 6:00 p.m. at Lake of the Woods on the Buffalo Trace trail. Refreshments will be served.

I wish I knew the story behind this race. I’m enormously impressed by the kid who organized it.
