Soooooo… Tell us about your new releases.
Incoming! Very much looking forward to the new Flaming Lips album (a triumphant return to form we hear) on three delicious formats: regular CD, a DCD & DVD deluxe edition that we hope is hairy, and the DLP vinyl version that comes with a CD copy too. Plus new Lightning Bolt, The Amazing (Swedish supergroup featuring Dungen dudes), Atlas Sound (Deerhunter dude), Piano Magic, Grant-Lee Phillips, a new experiment in sound from MV & EE, Thee Oh Sees (oh yes, another new album), Imaad Wasif (do some research, you’ll want in), The Fauns, Kraftwerk reissues, Beaten Awake…
Wax On: On the vinyl front we’re expecting 45s from Andrew Bird (limited, don’t sleep), Fergus & Geronimo, Kleenex Girl Wonder (in die-cut felt valentine sleeves), Spider Bags and Ready the Jet; LPs from Unicorns, Piano Magic, The Amazing, Thee Oh Sees, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down and Viva Voce; 12″ vinyl from Blitzen Trapper and German Measles; plus the aforementioned Flaming Lips DLP & CD, a couple of Wilco vinyl reissues (if Rhino’s still alive, sad emoticon goes here), Raincoats reissue LP, Majority Rule (classic DIY hardcore) reissue on LP+CD… Vinyl hounds should check our Twitter end-of-week for an update, expecting a special delivery.
Rocking Our World: Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars, the new Kurt Vile, The Amazing, A Place to Bury Strangers (still) and Nebula’s latest, funnyman Eugene Mirman’s new funnything, Naked Raygun @ Metro Friday night.
