Kraddy is a Los Angeles-based electronic-music producer, and his work ranges from being a founding member of Glitch Mob, to being known for his solo performances. He just released his Moment of Truth EP in late September, which you can hear right over at his website for free.

WHAT: Candy Foster & The Shades of Blue

WHERE: Memphis on Main ($5)

Some R&B takes over Memphis on Main this Friday with Candy Foster and his crew The Shades of Blue. If you’re not familiar with any of his material, head over to his website to check out some videos along with streaming audio to get a glimpse of what to expect at Memphis on Friday.

G. Love and Special Sauce have an interesting mix in a jam meets hip-hop sort of way. You can stream his latest album Fixin’ To Die over at his website to get an idea of what I’m talking about above.

WHAT: Stone-Faced, Heel Dragger

WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($5)

WHEN: Friday, November 2nd at 10 p.m.

Rock ‘n roll local crew Stone-Faced will take over Mike ‘N Molly’s with a Danville/Champaign based cover band Heel Dragger. This one is going to get loud up in the upstairs of the bar, and Heel Dragger takes requests, so keep that in mind and get your hard rock favorites into the set.

EDITOR’S PICK: C-U FOLK & ROOTS FESTIVAL
Various Locations all over Urbana — Friday, November 2nd through Sunday November 4th

 

The 4th annual C-U Folk & Roots Festival is happening this weekend, and it’s jam packed with entertainment all over Urbana. Various locations include the Urbana IMC, Iron Post, Buvon’s, The Rose Bowl, and many, many more. You can check out the full schedule, which went live not too long ago over at their site, as well as all the bands and musicians on the bill.

We’re a sponsor for the event and this is a pretty big weekend for the folk scene around town. We’ll have a closer look at the whole festival later in the week, plus post-festival coverage with photos and reviews from the shows we got to see.

WHAT: Clatter, Pleasure Boat Explosion, Electric Bitters

WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($5)

Back in August, Clatter released their third full-length album Garden of Whatever with the help of Sylvia Massey, who is known for working with Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, Prince, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. Pretty good company right there. You can stream the new record in full below.

WHAT: Whiskey Daredevils, Krank Daddies

WHERE: Cowboy Monkey ($7)

WHEN: Saturday, November 3rd at 10 p.m.

Ohio’s rockabilly crew will play Cowboy Monkey with another outfit that’s right up their alley as well in the Krank Daddies. They have a bunch of albums and have a few dates in Illinois outside of this one, so we’ll see them when they make their way across the state. Should be a pretty rockin’ show to say the least.
