Ohio metal band Enabler is playing Error Records, featuring shop owner Nathan Landolt who plays bass with them and has been on tour in much warmer places the past few weeks.

WHEN: Wendesday, March 4th, doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m.

Lotus play fun, posi electro-rock and have a tendency to jam on it. Catch them at the Canopy Club with the conscientiously renamed Turbo Suit.


WHAT: Satisfaction (Rolling Stones tribute band), Decadents

Can’t get no Rolling Stones? Get some Satiscaftion instead. Didn’t get that joke? You probably don’t belong at this show.

WHAT: Unofficial Finale featuring Manic Focus with Artifakts, Kyral x Banko and more

WHERE: Canopy Club ($10 in advance)

WHEN: Friday, March 6th, doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m.

Chicago’s Manic Focus makes original electronic compositions as well as remixes. He’s headlining this Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day bash.

WHERE: Mike N Molly’s ($5)

WHEN: Friday, March 6th, doors at 9 p.m.

Local indie college rockers In Heat, Plains, another indie band from Chicago and “Ex-C-U” Colonel play MNM’s on Friday. This show will probably be much less boozy than Canopy Club.

WHAT: Abnormous, Forrest Bump

WHERE: Cowboy-Monkey

WHEN: Friday, March 6th, 10 p.m.

Groove on over to Cowboy-Monkey for Abonormous — local funky, semi-electronic band to which you can dance and sing your worries away.

WHAT: Wicked Walls, Ashes & Iron, Darleen

WHERE: Mike N Molly’s ($7)

WHEN: Saturday, March 7th, doors at 9 p.m.

Champaign shoegazers Wicked Walls, Ashes & Iron, more shoegaze from St. Louis and new local band Darleen featuring members of That’s No moon make up a sweet Saturday night lineup.

WHAT: Unofficial Finale featuring Slaptop, Meccom

WHERE: Canopy Club ($10)

WHEN: Saturday, March 7th, doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m.

Apparently when it comes to Unofficial, “finale” does not indicate “final” as this is a continuation of the last night’s festivities at Canopy Club.


EDITOR’S PICK: THE DIRTY FEATHERS, THEGR8THINKAZ, MAE & THE DARK DAYS Cowboy Monkey ($5) — Saturday, March 7th, 10 p.m.

In a strangely neat combination of genres, C-U’s resident psych-rockers The Dirty Feathers and headlining Cowboy with rap group TheGr8Thinkaz and folk band Mae & The Dark Days. A showcase of local variety.

WHAT: Boilerman, Scoundrel, Nectar, The Dingbats

WHERE: Dingbat Dungeon ($5)

WHEN: Sunday, March 8th, 5:30 p.m.

Chicago pop punk band Boilerman, garage punk band Scoundrel, also from Chicago, are playing an early Sunday show with locals Nectar and The Dingbats opening up.


WHAT: A Wilhelm Scream, Roberta Sparrow, Resinater

WHERE: The Highdive ($12 advance, $15 door)

WHEN: Sunday, March 8th, doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m.

Once the Boilerman show ends, catch melodic hardcore legends A Wilhelm Scream at The HighDive.

WHAT: Truth AKA Trouble, Chase Baby, Jeff Da MC

WHEN: Sunday, March 8th, doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m.

Local rapper Truth AKA Trouble (not to be confused with T.R.U.T.H.) will perform live at Canopy Club Sunday night.
