The Beeson Duo is set to perform for Canopy Club’s Monday Night House Party this week. You might recognize them as the Beeson Brothers in their fullest capacity, but this appears to be a stripped-down version of the band. They’re joined by The Social Alcohol Band tonight.

Nashville’s Daisyhead headlines this show at Error Records mid-week. They’re signed to No Sleep Records, and they’re on tour with Nest and Cove, and they’re joined by Hometown Heavyweights.

WHERE: The Virginia Theater ($99-49)

WHEN: Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:30 p.m.

Chicago’s classic rock band Styx is performing on Wednesday night here in C-U, and you most likely know about them already at this point in the game. They’re joined by Head East on this particular evening.

WHAT: Frank Leone, Saba, Mick Jenkins, Klevah

WHERE: The Canopy Club ($5)

WHEN: Thursday, April 3rd at 8 p.m.

Frank Leone is an 18 year old rapper/producer, who is wrapping up his self-produced project #EnterWild, and on Thursday night, they’re celebrating the release of the project. He’s joined by a few others, inlcuding local emcee Klevah.

WHAT: Wild Ones, Motes, Single Player

WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($7)

WHEN: Friday, April 4th at 9 p.m.

Wild Ones are a five-piece who is releasing some new material this week, and they’re calling it Keep It Safe. They’re out of Portland, and on Topshelf Records. Joining them are two locals, slowcore/indie rock outfit Motes and Single Player, the project of Sean Neumann.

WHAT: DJ Tim Williams, DJ Stifler

WHERE: Cowboy Monkey ($2)

WHEN: Friday, April 4th at 9 p.m.

A couple of DJs throwing down at Cowboy to start out the weekend — as DJ Tim Williams and DJ Stifler will be taking care of business.

EDITOR’S PICK: GRANDKIDS, THE FIGHTS, HUNDRED HEADS, SINGLE PLAYER
Error Records ($5) — Saturday, April 5th at 8 p.m.

Error Records is turning one this week, and they’re throwing down a bit for their birthday bash. Pretty crazy to think it’s been a year since Nathan Landolt opened that space, and it’s exciting that it’s doing well and consistently putting on shows here in C-U. As you can see on the poster, there will be food, a DJ, and a good sale happening on top of four solid bands. Grandkids head things up with locals the Fights and Single Player, as well as Chicago’s Hundred Heads.

This show on Saturday is a benefit show featuring a couple of acts, and they’re calling it Autism Sings: A Handful of Jams for Zambia. For a good cause, you can see some music and hang out at Mike ‘N Molly’s on a Saturday night.

WHAT: The Ars Nova, The Future Laureates, Vintage Blue

WHERE: Cowboy Monkey ($5)

WHEN: Saturday, April 5th at 9 p.m.

Champaign’s the Arts Nova heads this show up at Cowboy Monkey on Saturday night, and they’re joined by Future Laureates and the Vintage Blue, which features U of I alum Ryan Tibbs.
