A mixture of indie rock and experimental tunes hit Iron Post on Wednesday night, as World’s Greatest Dad heads through town. The Atlanta crew is supporting their new record, Get Well Soon, and with a showbill with a couple of dogs on it, there’s a lot to check out here. A couple of locals are supporting them: Alt/folk singer-songwriter Fiona Kimble and experimental crew Snayl.

They’ve been through town a few times, and the husband/wife duo are back through at this hosue show. Fiona Kimble is on this bill as well, as this makes a second show for her this week.

The album release show for Motes has arrived. Crash the Day is the new record from the band, as they are following up their excellent last record Keep It In The Dark from a couple of years back. Not only that, but V.V. Lightbody (Vivian McConnell’s project, you likely remember her from Grandkids and Santah) is releasing a new album as well, Bathing Peach. All of that, plus the always-excellent psych outfit ZXO to open. There’s a lot happening here, which is a highlight of the week in live music around these parts.

Henhouse Prowlers

Henhouse Prowlers head back through Urbana after their performance at last year’s C-U Folk & Roots Festival. Then, they performed at the IMC, and this time around, the folk outfit hits the Iron Post just down the street.
