Kassius used to be called Cassius, but the local emo band mysteriously changed a letter in their name. Why? I don’t know. Ask them at the show where they play with touring bands from Memphis and Louisiana.

Local indie with a hint of country—Mayhew The Traitor headlines Mike N Molly’s. This is also your chance to watch the birth of a new local band as it’s one of Hot Hand Luke & The Sound’s first shows.

Blues, Brews and BBQ is back this year with Joanna Connor, Upshot, Ana Popovic and more blues performers. Obviously as per the name of the fest, there will be beer and food as well, but my favorite part is the motorcycle show. More info here.

The Champaign/Urbana Singer-Songwriter Collective and Nightjar Promotions are putting on a night of 24 (!) acts doing Dolly Parton’s hits. And you can feel really good about going because the proceeds benefit local radio station WEFT.

Sundays typically aren’t punk enough. But if you catch locals Krelboyne and Total Asshole with two STL bands at Error, you’ll get your daily dose.
