What: Alash – Throat Singers from the Republic of Tuva

Where: Smith Memorial Hall (free)

When: Wednesday, February 10th at 8 p.m.

Come out and see Alash, a group of musicians coming to us all the way from the southern Siberian Republic of Tuva. They are masters of throat singing, which is a technique for singing multiple pitches at the same time. This is certainly the most unique and interesting music event happening this week in C-U – don’t miss it.

The Floozies bring their unique mix of electronic music and funk to The Canopy Club. Their new single “She Ain’t Yo Girlfriend” was recently reviewed by Huffington Post. They are joined by Sunsquabi and Defunk.

Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) are an instrumental electronic rock band that have headlined music festivals all over the world. Self-described as “post-rock dance music”, they are known for their incredible live shows.

What: Diane Cofee with Church Booty and We the Animals

Where: The Accord ($8)

When: Friday, February 12th at 8 p.m.

Another killer show lined up for Friday night over at The Accord, headlined by Diane Coffee who are sure to put on a great performance. They are joined by We the Animals and one of the hottest acts in town – soul/funk band Church Booty.

What: Dreezy

Where: The Canopy Club ($10)

When: Friday, February 12th at 8 p.m.

Dreezy, known as the “Princess of Chicao Rap” is headlining this hip-hop show at The Canopy Club. She just released a single “Body” featuring Jeremih. Yes, that Jeremih. Also taking the stage will be Jayairewoods, Dos Phendi, TLNTD, Sterling Hayes, and Mishul.

What: The Inn Keepers with The Underwerewolves and Square Donuts

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($5)

When: Friday, February 12th at 9 p.m.

Local rock group The Inn Keepers just announced that they have signed with Perimeter Road Sound Recordings, a student-staffed record label on the Parkland College campus. Come out at celebrate with them as they perform alongside The Underwerewolves and Square Donuts.

What: Chachi and the Bandidos

Where: Cowboy Monkey ($7)

When: Friday, February 12th at 10 p.m.

Local group Chachi and the Bandidos will be playing a couple sets of music featuring a mix of classic country western music as well as some funk and soul.

What: Aaron Kamm & The One Drops

Where: The Accord ($8)

When: Saturday, February 13th at 8 p.m.

Aaron Kamm & The One Drops are a group from St. Louis that will be playing a groovy set of music that merges roots reggae and Mississippi River blues. They are joined by locals Curb Service and Sticky Ricky.

What: Chris Cavanaugh

Where: The City Center

When: Saturday, February 13th at 9 p.m.

Another night of country music at The City Center this Saturday. Chris Cavanaugh has had moderate success with songs like “Country As I Wanna Be” so if country music is your thing then head out to The City Center.

What: The Autocorrect with The Multiple Cat and Bristle

Where: Mike N Molly’s ($7)

When: Saturday, February 13th at 9 p.m.

Local space rock group The Autocorrect will be headlining this show over at Mike N Molly’s. They will be joined by The Multiple Cat, a group that is visiting from Davenport, Iowa, and local rockers Bristle.
