Second week in a row that a pretty well known touring outfit his the nightshop in Bloomington, as A Wilhelm Scream pulls through neighboring Bloomington. That statement is with all due respect, of course. They have touring bands often but not all demand advanced ticketing. They’re joined by Springfield’s Hospital Job, a punk outfit that is no stranger to C-U.

Scene vets Take Care are back with a brand new self titled record out on Friday via Heirship Records. The post-rock outfit’s records has been in the works for quite some time, the band has basically been on hiatus for a handful of years now. This release will be the final release by Isaac Arms’ Heirship Records, coinciding with Saturday night’s show at Canopy Club with a slew of bands from the label’s history.

The Chickadee Sermon, Emily Anne McKown

► The Iron Post // $5 // 9:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, December 15th

Kurt Reeder & Friends

Remod, Croatians, Gas Mask Horse, Kathy’s Special Brownies / Ghost of Dead Tables, Elcano, AmishRobots, Hemisaurus, IJ Morrison

► Loose Cobra // donations // 4:20 p.m.

This is such a weird and awesome show at the Loose Cobra, I had to feature it this week. “A Night of Noise” starts appropriately at 4:20 p.m. and ends at 11:20 p.m., and there are a ton of acts lined up — too many to single out here in a short description. Noise music, all night.

Withershins, Mother Nature, Evil Tents, Hot Cops!, Grandkids, Terminus Victor, Motes, Windmills

► The Canopy Club // $8 advance/$10 day of show // 6 p.m.

Heirship Records will close their books on Saturday night with their Farewell Fest, which incorporates a ton of artists they’ve worked with over the course of the label’s existence. As I mentioned previously, Take Care’s release is the final one on the label, but this show separates things from that show at the IMC due to the reunions of Withershins, Evil Tents, and Hot Cops — and you can see Mother Nature, Grandkids, and all the rest all for $8-$10? This is a must see for the weekend.

Chicken Shack, Hot Sauce Universe

► nightshop in Bloomington // $7 // 7 p.m.

Matthew Curry

► The Castle Theatre in Bloomington // $12 advance/$15 day of show // 8 p.m.

Walker McGuire

► The City Center // $12-$22 // 8:30 p.m.

Tom and Matt Turnio

► The Iron Post // cover // 9 p.m.

Candy Foster and Shades of Blue

► Neil St. Blues // $10 // 9 p.m.

Whiskey Shadows, Blind Adam & The Federal League

► Cowboy Monkey // $7 // 9:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, December 16th

Andrew Walits

► The Iron Post // cover // 5 p.m.
